Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the privacy choices available to you as a visitor to the Quarantine Zone: The Last Check Fan Outpost.
Information We Collect
We collect limited information so we can run this fan outpost responsibly.
- Email correspondence: anything you send to contact@quarantinezone.org, such as your name, contact details, and the contents of your message.
- Technical logs: our hosting provider (Cloudflare Pages) supplies aggregated logs with truncated IP addresses, browser types, device information, and error data to help us protect the site.
- Advertising data: Google AdSense and its partners may process pseudonymous identifiers to show and measure ads. See Cookies & Advertising for details.
We do not host user accounts or comment sections, and we do not intentionally collect sensitive personal data.
How We Use Your Information
- Respond to you: we use your contact details only to answer the question, correction, or rights request you submit.
- Maintain accuracy: contributions from readers help us update articles with verified information.
- Protect the site: log data helps us monitor uptime, diagnose errors, and deter abuse.
- Meet legal obligations: we retain records needed to demonstrate compliance with takedown or privacy requests.
We may review aggregated trends (for example, which pages receive the most visits) to guide future coverage. We do not sell or rent personal information.
Cookies & Advertising
We do not set first-party analytics cookies. To help fund hosting costs we partner with Google AdSense, which uses cookies and similar technologies to deliver, personalize, and measure ads.
Google's use of the DoubleClick DART cookie enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visits to this site and other sites on the internet. You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting https://adssettings.google.com/. Additional information about how Google uses data in AdSense can be found at https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads.
Third-party vendors may also use cookies, pixel tags, or device identifiers when delivering ads. These technologies may automatically collect your IP address, browser or device type, approximate location, and interaction with the advertisement. We do not have access to or control over the cookies that third-party advertisers use, but we require compliance with Google Publisher Policies. You may opt out of some third-party vendors' cookies via http://www.aboutads.info/choices/.
You can manage or disable cookies in your browser settings. Blocking cookies may affect how ads display but will not prevent you from accessing site content.
Retention & Security
Email correspondence is stored in our inbox for up to 12 months after we close the conversation, unless we need to retain it longer to comply with a legal obligation. Records related to takedown or privacy requests may be kept longer so we can demonstrate how we responded.
Access to the mailbox is limited to the small volunteer team that maintains this site. We rely on reputable hosting and email providers and review account permissions regularly to reduce the risk of unauthorized access.
Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or object to the processing of your personal information. This includes residents of the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, California, and other regions with comprehensive privacy laws.
To exercise these rights, email contact@quarantinezone.org with the subject line "Privacy Request" and describe what you would like us to do. We may ask you to verify your identity before acting on the request. We aim to acknowledge requests within two business days and respond in full within 30 days where feasible.
You can also request that we stop contacting you. We currently do not operate newsletters, but we will honor any opt-out you send.
Children's Privacy
The Quarantine Zone: The Last Check Fan Outpost is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the minimum age required by your local law). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

We review this policy whenever we add new features or work with new partners. Updates will be posted on this page and become effective once published. Significant changes may also be highlighted on the homepage.
